Hanni El Khatib has dropped “No Way,” the latest single off his upcoming EP, titled Savage Times, Vol. 3. The acoustic track, full of beachy guitar lines and layered harmonies, may sound like a chilled out summer song, but the lyrics run much deeper, as they usually do on El Khatib's tracks.
The new track is like a proclamation of unity amongst a number of families, who currently face the threat of losing their homes in the face of widespread gentrification. With El Khatib's lead, the mellow but defiant track eventually proclaims their undying fight against the bulldozers of progress.
