Whether it’s live music, digital filmmaking, or leading an orchestra, multi-instrumentalist and funk architect Kutiman keeps on producing projects and making music that gets better and better. The dude has been busting out funky ass music since 2006, and has had an undisputed impact on tons of DJs.
Kutiman is not just one thing, he's a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, orchestra leader, and digital mixologist and filmmaker, and throughout his run as an artist he's continued to introduce new elements to his music, like Indian sitars and psychedelic guitars. He's now back with a new release, since his minimal "Mineral" project, “White Monkey”. Keeping it funky, he’s gone a bit psychedelic with synth stabs and a horn section that make the new track have this cosmic vibe from start to finish.
Dubbed the prestigious title of being a "psychedelic funk architect", it's no wonder that his new 7" White Monkey has already sold out on vinyl on his bandcamp page. There's no doubt that Kutiman continues to stand as a pioneer of experimental and psych funk, as he continues leading the way in world funk each and every release he shells out. The A-side features the crisp drums and cosmic synths of "White Monkey", promising a heavy funk psychedelic experience. Flip it over to the B-side and you'll find "Sefi Ramirez", the name of the epic trumpeter collaborating on the track.
