With their epic debut album Ethos out on Burger Records March 18th, Los Angeles-based psych pop outfit Levitation Room has released their a new single, "Standing in the Rain".
The band's 2015 6-track EP Minds Of Our Own, was a tremendous collection of sixties psych-inspired pop tunes. It was a musical tease that since it's release has made us more than eager to hear the upcoming release. What can we expect with Ethos? "I guess you can anticipate it being a straight forward psychedelic album, with a few flowery pop tunes thrown in there for good measure," " says lead singer Julian Porte in an interview with The Basement.
Ethos shows elements of instrumentation that previously hadn't been heard, but with the addition of keyboardist, Glenn Brigman, who also recorded the album, helped elaborate on some keen ideas the band had for its development. Both "Loved" and "There Are No Words" from "Minds Of Our Own" will be on Ethos, but with different recording techniques and some added textures and sounds.
Levitation Room will be traveling from California up to Austin TX for Levitation Fest, and then up to Chicago and back to support their release.
