We knew there was something missing in our lives, and upon hearing The Shins new cut, we realized it was the infectious melodies and breezy bass lines of the band's vintage sound. It's been a good chunk of time since The Shins have satisfied our easy-listening and "Dead Alive" fills that musical void. typically playful and tongue-in-cheek, but also slightly foreboding.
Originally premiered a show in London last month, "Dead Alive" comes with a Halloween-themed music video, with frontman James Mercer in a deep dream about being a skeleton and a giant. The single is the first official preview of their next album.
The Shins’ new LP is supposedly arriving “early next year”. It serves as the follow-up to 2012’s Port of Morrow.
