Twist is like that little known band, that when you find out who is in it (and who has played with them), you wonder how they could have gone unnoticed. Aside from the Toronto act’s core members, singer-songwriter Laura Hermiston and Holy Fuck’s Brian Borchedt, a number of artists (Crocodiles’ Charlie Rowell, Courtney Love's touring musician Jenny Vee, to name a few) have flowed in and out of the duo’s recording sessions and live shows.
Now the band has released a fuzzy late summer jam off their forthcoming LP, Spectral, and a follow up to "Can't Wait", called "Bleached". In an conversation with FADER, Hermiston said, "'Bleached’ is about intentionally letting your attachments to people and ideas fade away. It’s about starting fresh, even if you’re not ready to get rid of things that don't bring you joy anymore, and allowing yourself to change. To do and be anything you want because nothing else has a hold on you anymore."
Most of the album was developed in the apartment of Borcherdt, which gives it that lo-fi feel. Listen to "Bleached" below.
